The C.B.C.

I'm going to get very real here for a second. I HATE admiting this and I almost NEVER do. I might even delete this post before it makes it here to the blog but here goes: I have someone clean my house twice a month. *Gasp.* There, I said it. I never, EVER thought I'd have someone to clean my house when I grew up but there you go. Part of the reason I work part-time is to pay for this luxury. So today is the day. I'll leave the house (because I am embarassed to sit here when someone is cleaning for me) and when I come home, the house will sparkle and all will be well with the world... until we make it messy again in a few days.
So this brings us to the C.B.C. (named by my friend Colette). Twice a month, I spend HOURS on the C.B.C. I was us at 6 am this morning for the C.B.C., in fact (and more honestly, I'm blogging to procrastinate on the C.B.C.). So what is the C.B.C.? The Clean-Before-the-Clean. Because in order for the woman who cleans our house to do the deep clean, I have to clean the clutter. My husband thinks this is ridiculous but any other woman I know who has someone clean their house knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
There. How's that for full-disclousure?

I'd do the same thing...maybe someday I'll get someone to clean my house!
I too have someone clean my house....but they come every Thursday. That means I spend either Wednesday night or Thursday morning before going to work 'cleaning' my house. I have to make sure everything is put away before they get here. My friends make fun of me, but oh well! I've noticed that since they've been coming, my house stays pretty much straight all week. It's definitely a good motivator to put things away as I go rather than waiting to do it all on the weekend like I did before I got the maid service.
The CBC is bad but have you ever had to CAC - the Clean after the Cleaner because you are too embarassed to tell your husband your housecleaner is terrible and too meek to tell the cleaner what you actually think of her cleaning? Imagine me, 7 months pregnant with child number 4, vacumming my own stairs (two sets!) after the cleaner left and before my husband came home from work just to save face with them both! Finally same friend Colette talked me into firing our cleaner and using our cleaning money on scrap supplies (well, the shopping my part was my idea). What a glorious day! I could take credit for the house I was cleaning and get new border punches! :o)
Okay I do both the CBC and the rest at my house but I really think I need someone to come do the real cleaning for me. .. I have to much fun playing now and do not clean as well as I did in my younger years.
Ooh, I would love to have somebody come & clean my house...& somebody to cook too. It would be so nice not to have to figure out "what's for dinner", & to have a clean house to boot. What the heck, while I'm dreaming I might as well go with a gardener too. -Just to pull all the weeds, I like to do the rest. Ah, a hairdresser....somebody to blame my bad hair days on. The list goes on & on. ;)

Well, I'm the CBC, the CAC and the ATC !! ALL Time Cleaner ! Not that I do that great of a job , it's just that I'm the only one doing it!
I'm with Tona, I'd love to have a live in "staff" (well maybe live-in , as in the garage or somewhere !)
I do the same thing!! Sounds a little silly, but my goodness, I'm a great straightener. Just hate the actual cleaning part.
Sadly, my cleaning service has helped my husband and I to stop bickering about cleaning the house. SO worth it.
My whole family does the "night before Peggy" dash. Peggy no longer cleans our house-- in fact, she's two cleaners ago-- but we still call it that. It used to be Sunday night, but now it's Wednesday, which is somehow harder.
